Bayonne school district hopes new plan 'ads' up as money-maker

The Bayonne school district has been given the green light to display advertising on its school buses as a way to bring in extra revenue. “We’re hoping to get this done as soon as I can get a contract (with an advertiser),” said Bayonne schools Business Administrator Leo Smith.

The Bayonne school board approved the request to advertise on the buses last week at a board meeting. The district authorization to advertise and request proposals from authorized vendors. The resolution said contracts do not require a bid but the BBOE intends on awarding “contracts via fair and open process.”
