Why we're selling naming rights

Today, the West Bloomfield public school system is announcing a new, creative way to help fund athletic programs by selling naming rights to its athletic facilities. The school district would like to partner with local businesses or private individuals to name facilities such as the football stadium, the baseball and softball fields and the gymnasium at West Bloomfield High School.

We are trying to think out of the box, to keep West Bloomfield athletics at the top without using taxpayer money. This idea has been very successful at the professional level with local examples such as Comerica Park or Ford Field. We believe this program will be a positive for the school and our students by creating a new revenue stream. And it is a great opportunity for local businesses or individuals who would like to help our school system.
