Dodge's Incredible Free Advertising In 'GTA 5'

Product placement is increasingly common in video games these days as brands desperately try to get themselves noticed with consumers fast-forwarding commercials or blocking banner ads. In-game ads and cross promotions have popped up in all manner of games from Call of Duty to Need for Speed. But not Grand Theft Auto. Why?

It would seem like if a game breaks every entertainment sales record on the planet, you might want to be part of that, but either brands want no part of the GTA series for the firestorm it would bring down on their companies as soon as cable news got a whiff of the partnership, or simply because Rockstar won’t have them.
