Always on the hunt for ways to increase revenue, Pasco County School Board members on Tuesday suggested they want to tweak policy to allow for more paid advertisement in the district. Board chairwoman Cynthia Armstrong said she attended a conference where Orange County school officials spoke of raising more than $1 million over a few years by expanding options for things such as naming rights on stadiums and ads on websites.
The distribution of those funds has caused some concern in Orange schools, WFTV reported back in February. Armstrong stressed that the district should not create any system that would take away from what booster clubs, PTAs and other groups do with sponsors, advertisers and supporters.
