Mount Laurel drives toward school bus ads

By Kristen Coppock

School officials have agreed to a contract designed to generate advertising revenue with district buses.

The Board of Education is participating with the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commissionís Cooperative Pricing System. Through the system, the district has a contractual arrangement with Advantage3, a community marketing company in Millburn that will facilitate the sale and placement of advertisements.

The school district will be charged $145 for each bus used in the program and will collect 65 percent of the profits, according to the agreement. Advantage3 will take 33 percent of the revenue, with the remaining 2 percent going to the Middlesex commission.

It is not yet known how many buses will be used.
