Medford schools look to sell ad space on Web
By Kristen Coppock
Advertisements soon may begin appearing on the township schools’ website as part of the district’s revenue-growing initiative.
Earlier this year, the district moved forward with its plan to place ads on its school buses and in its facilities. Administrators do not yet have an estimate for the amount of revenue that could be raised through the initiative, but they are optimistic.
“We have an opportunity to leverage our fixed assets as well as our virtual assets,” Superintendent Joseph Del Rossi said. “We’re going to have the final say in what’s advertised.”
The Board of Education last week approved an agreement with Alternative Revenue Development of Michigan, which will facilitate the placement of the Internet ads. The final agreement is pending the company’s approval of amendments suggested by board members before their vote.
