Advertising policy advances in North Penn
By Linda Stein
Advertising could be coming to the walls of a school near you.
The North Penn School Board discussed a policy governing advertisements inside schools, at sporting events and on its website and publications at its workshop meeting Tuesday. Over the objections of the two newest board members, Suzan Leonard and Carolyn Murphy, the policy advanced to the board’s business meeting on Sept. 20.
Other districts that have accepted ads, including Pennsbury and Centennial, are making thousands of dollars, said board President Vincent Sherpinsky after the meeting.
Leonard said that she understands that advertising can be a “good source of revenue.”
