North Kitsap School District to look at advertising to supplement budget
By Angela Dice
Who gets to put their name on Vikings Stadium and what will it cost to do so?
North Kitsap School District plans to answer that question and similar ones as it looks at procedures on accepting advertisements and sponsorships and determining where money from them would go.
In the coming year, the district could sell temporary naming rights to stadiums, libraries and other facilities, or have ads on scoreboards and recognition stamps on donated books and other materials.
Board members earlier this year discussed advertising and sponsorships as a potential way to support athletics and activities, bringing revenue that would prop up its shrinking budget.
