A policy that would allow for commercial sponsorship and advertising in school will be considered Monday by the Hatboro-Horsham School Board.

“Anything we can do to generate additional revenue, or strengthen our revenue with all the challenges we face with the budget is something worth looking at,” said Bob Reichert, business manager for the school district.

If the board approves the idea, district administrators say there is still work to be done to determine how advertising would be allowed within the school setting.

Reichert explained that the current policy, which was discussed during the Aug. 6 school board meeting, is “meant to be a guideline” and there is currently “no specific areas designated for advertising at this point.”
