The First Graduates From Advertising High

A high school devoted to teaching students, mostly from minority groups, about advertising and media will graduate its first class of seniors.

The graduation ceremony for the High School for Innovation in Advertising and Media, in Canarsie, Brooklyn, is to take place on June 26 at the Brooklyn Museum. Michael I. Roth, chairman and chief executive of the Interpublic Group of Companies, is to deliver the commencement speech.

“My Brooklyn ties have something to do with” his participation, Mr. Roth said, along with the support that Interpublic and its agencies like Deutsch, DraftFCB and McCann Erickson Worldwide have provided the school. Mr. Roth, who was born in Brooklyn and grew up there, said he “started at Erasmus Hall High School and graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School.”
