Maryville City Schools has suspended its plans to put advertising on the back of Maryville High School’s football stadium.

Maryville Planning Commission was scheduled Monday to hear an agenda item related to the project. However, school officials requested last week that the item be removed.

“We got a call last week that the schools weren’t going to pursue the idea, and they were rethinking their options,” said Maryville Development Services Director John Jagger. “It was pulled at their request.”

System-level administrators made the decision last week, said Maryville Assistant Director of Schools Mike Winstead. “We may revisit these plans at a later date, but we won’t be doing anything this summer.”
