Some schools look to advertising to supplement revenue

The school funding crisis has districts all over the Susquehanna Valley looking for new ways to shore up budgets.

Some districts are starting to look more like NASCAR than knowledge.

While advertising is commonplace on school grounds such as football fields, one high school in Bucks County is putting ads on buses and lockers.

Some school leaders in Lancaster County said that type of advertising might not be the answer for them just yet.

“Schools are going to have to look more at that college model and be creative,” said Gerald Husken, superintendent of the Conestoga Valley School District.
