North Penn School District uses instant polling via text

Officials from the North Penn School District used text messages to conduct instant polling from an audience of about 100 people who attended a Community Forum Wednesday.
Those responding mostly favored allowing advertising with limits in the schools that Superintendent Curt Dietrich queried them on, after giving an overview of the budget problems the district is facing.
One proposal put forward by the Alternative Revenue Committee is to sell advertisements in the school hallways and cafeterias, allow ads at halftime at football games and also offer naming rights to various areas. Pennsbury School District expects to earn $400,000 through ads in its schools.
