Committee recommends allowing ads in North Penn schools

At the close of its meeting April 11, the North Penn School District alternative revenue committee agreed to ask the school board to adopt a policy regarding advertisements in the schools.
With Pennsbury School District set to earn $400,000 from allowing ads to be placed on the walls of its school hallways, lockers and cafeteria, the group agreed that it behooves North Penn, which is facing a $2.5 million budget gap, to do the same.
Kyle Somers, a solicitor for the school district, said a policy must be carefully crafted.
