Upper Moreland School Board approves advertising in buses

The Upper Moreland School Board has approved a contract with a Lehigh County company to sell advertisements inside the district’s buses.

The board voted 9-0 Tuesday in favor of an agreement with The Factory Advertising of Schnecksville. The contract provides that it is effective immediately and can be terminated by either party on 90 days’ written notice.

A provision in the contract explains that The Factory Advertising will “solicit and sell advertising on behalf of School District for placement within the interior of School District’s school buses.”

District Business Manager Michael Braun pointed out that advertising on bus exteriors was prohibited. There is a provision specifically to that effect in the agreement.
