Glenbrook District 225 eyes stadium ads as revenue source
By Todd Shields
Local businesses could be a new revenue source for funding the $3.5 million installation of artificial sports turf at Glenbrook North and South high schools.
Principals have been meeting with business people interesting in renting advertising space on scoreboards at both of the school’s stadiums.
School District 225 could net $200,000 or $400,000 over five and 10 years, respectively, if eight spaces on each board were rented, district trustees were told Monday night.
Principals said businesses have already expressed an interest in renting a few to half of the eight spaces.
