Thumb down: Florida lawmakers should reject proposal to sell naming rights for school cafeterias, ad

GONE TOO FAR: In their desperation to generate much-needed revenues, some Florida lawmakers have gone too far.

One legislator in particular, Rep. Irv Slosberg, D-Boca Raton, has introduced several bills that would allow the state to sell corporate naming rights for bike trails, Turnpike exit ramps, greenways and school cafeterias. Additionally, school districts would be allowed to sell advertising space on the side of yellow school buses.
