Neighbors battle food carts in Dolores Park

The men of the Sausage Slinger had their hearts set on San Francisco.

After their modest hot dog cart took off in Sacramento over the winter, the owners applied to set up shop near Dolores Park, the popular green space in the Mission.

Then neighbors found out. They penned letters of protest, posted flyers and, in late October, complained at a hearing in City Hall. The slingers were silenced and withdrew their application.
