Dissent over proposed gift, new name at MAM

A proposed $35 million gift from developer Jorge Perez to the Miami Art Museum, with naming rights, is raising the ire of several board members who say the institutionís name should not be for sale.

The museum would not confirm any details, releasing only this statement through spokesman Tadd Schwartz:

ďSpeculation regarding a major gift is testament to the public and private sectorís enthusiasm for Miami Art Museum, which enjoys broad support from all corners of Miamiís diverse community.
