Ads look good to Lodi Unified

The Lodi High basketball team could soon be playing in the Nike Gymnasium, and the McNair High drama club could soon be performing in the Target Theater.

Lodi Unified trustees were expected Tuesday night to give district officials the go-ahead to hire the advertising agency Education Funding Partners to sell naming rights and other ads at the district’s 53 school sites. The deal, which would pay the agency 20 percent of all sales, could generate as much as $100,000 a year for the cash-strapped district, said Art Hand, the district’s assistant superintendent of facilities and planning.
