Time Warner spent $853,000 lobbying gov't in 2Q

Time Warner Inc., the owner of the HBO premium pay TV channel and Warner Bros. movie studio, spent $853,000 in the second quarter lobbying the federal government on issues including advertising to children and online privacy, according to a disclosure report.
That’s up from the $712,000 it spent in the same period a year ago and the same amount it spent in the first quarter.
Time Warner also lobbied the federal government on reform of the U.S. postal service. As the publisher of Time and other magazines, the company is a heavy user of the nation’s mail system.
In the April-to-June period, Time Warner lobbied Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the Commerce Department and other agencies, according to the report filed July 19 with the House clerk’s office.
