Sahlen's purchases naming rights for Rochester stadium

Sahlen’s Packing Co. Inc. of Buffalo has become the naming rights sponsor of Rochester’s downtown stadium for the next 10 years.
The irony, of course, is that the stadium — home of the Rochester Rhinos and Western New York Flash soccer teams and the Rochester Rattlers lacrosse team — is only about three blocks away from Zweigle’s.

While Sahlen’s will displace Zweigle’s hot dogs from concession stands at the Sahlen’s Stadium, Sahlen’s owner Joe Sahlen said the marketing plan for the Rochester area revolves around deli meat products. “This is one part of promoting the Sahlen’s brand in Rochester,” he said. “Our marketing thrust will not be hot dogs. Our main focus will be deli meats.” Sahlen’s already has a sponsorship deal to be the “official hot dog” of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
