Clearasil to Debut New Anti-Drug PSA During MTV's 'Skins' (Exclusive)

Hollywood Reporter

Clearasil isn’t steering away from the controversial MTV series Skins.

As THR previously reported, the zit cream is continuing to run advertisements despite an ad boycott - and on tonight’s show, it plans to announce a new partnership it has formed with MTV.

Called “Make the Clear Choice,” the public service campaign promotes awareness and education about drug and alcohol abuse, sexual health and self esteem. The PSA features MTV News Correspondent Suchin Pak. In addition to the PSA, Clearasil will be launching a Facebook campaign to engage their core audience by donating up to $30,000 split among three non-profit organizations whose mission is to help teens make clear choices.

Though the Parents Television Council is claiming Skins violates pornography laws, MTV is standing by its show, insisting it accurately covers the way teens live today—similar themes to the network’s new campaign with Clearasil.
