Zionsville Schools May Sell Stadium Naming Rights

The new multipurpose stadium on Mulberry Street could have a corporate name attached to it, according to district leaders.

Bob Bostwick, executive director of operations for the Zionsville school district, asked the School Board on Monday night to approve a construction change order of $33,072 for an archway that will be built at the front entrance to the stadium. The arch, he said, will be the focal point of the stadium and will carry the corporate sponsor name.

“We have four corporations looking at possible naming rights for the complex,” Bostwick said. He declined to name those companies, but said they all do business in Zionsville.

He said the arch was not in the original plans because it was hoped a private donor would pay for it.

In December, the School Board accepted construction bids totaling $13,476,977 for the stadium, plus new athletic fields that will be on County Road 875 East. This includes general and mechanical construction and electrical and sports lighting.

The stadium would be the first time the Zionsville athletic facility would have a corporate name, although there are business names on scoreboards.
