Did you know that besides New Zealand, ours is the only other industrialized country in the world that allows manufacturers to market prescription drugs directly to consumers? Arenít we lucky?

I donít know what Kiwis see on their televisions, but we get to be subjected to countless ads for male erectile dysfunction, female bladder control problems, low testosterone, osteoporosis, COPD, restless leg syndrome (a condition whose potential side effects somehow include gambling, sexual, or other urges!), and Joe Theismannís prostate issues (that man never did know when to shut up). A study from the Annals of Family Medicine estimates that American television viewers are subjected to as many as 16 hours of prescription drug ads each year!
